Buster was a great dog, and also a terrible one. We loved and hated him for as long as he was with us. Born June 1, 2009, we got Buster when he was just six weeks old. Picked him up at Laguardia, shipped in from Ontario. Though a Portuguese Water Dog by breed, Buster was Canadian by birth and American in spirit. He spent his early life in Pawling, NY on the campus of Trinity-Pawling School before moving to Brooklyn and ultimately on to St. Louis.
In July of 2014, Buster's body quickly failed him, and he was suddenly lost to illness. Within a few days, Buster lost the ability to walk through a condition called myasthenia gravis, likely due to a tumor in his chest. He received the best possible care, but all too suddenly and entirely too soon, he was gone.
Buster was a beautiful beast, loved by all, but especially Nora. We miss him constantly.
